Catenda AS (“Catenda” or the “Company”), a leading provider of open ecosystem collaboration and data exchange software for construction and infrastructure projects, announced that it will partner with GRO to accelerate global commercial scaling and continue to drive a digital and sustainable transformation of the construction industry.

By pioneering the use of open standards, Catenda offers an attractive portfolio of products that addresses the end-to-end construction and building lifecycle.

The Norwegian company’s flagship product serves as a central platform for stakeholder collaboration and communication of project data, primarily in the design and pre-construction phases of construction and infrastructure projects. The platform allows all relevant stakeholders to view and interact with digital twin models; store, edit and update documents and files; and assign tasks and issues, delivering significant time and cost savings.

Sustainable future through digitization

Catenda promotes transparency and data-driven decision-making as core values and is committed to placing open data at the core of construction and building operations – a key enabler to accelerate digitization and help to unlock the path toward a more sustainable future for construction and infrastructure.

Today, the Company has earned the trust of +250 customers, including prominent industry leaders worldwide, empowering them to simplify collaboration and coordination. With GRO becoming majority owner and injecting growth capital, the partnership marks an important new chapter for the Company as it continues to experience substantial business momentum across Europe and in Japan.

Einar Gudmundsson, CEO of Catenda: “The road to a world built in a sustainable way is paved by increasing the availability of transparent data that is radically easier to access and consume. We are building the open infrastructure that will allow everyone to share and collaborate digitally, as we build sustainable buildings and infrastructure together. Unlocking this potential is what we call “the open way”. We are excited for GRO’s significant vote of confidence and know that their expertise in scaling B2B software companies will strengthen our position in the market and benefit our customers globally. GRO’s belief in our vision and team is both an endorsement of what we have accomplished so far and a strong affirmation of the potential ahead. With GRO onboard, we look forward to scaling to new heights and continuing to drive innovation that matters for our society.
Maxwell Veyhe, Partner at GRO: “Catenda represents an attractive opportunity to make our second investment in Norway and back a company that is driving a sustainable transformation in the construction industry by promoting collaboration, transparency, and data-driven decision-making. We are deeply impressed by the team’s thought leadership and the innovative platform they have built to make the industry more efficient. Aligning perfectly with GRO’s core investment themes of unlocking resource efficiency and creating a sustainable future, Catenda showcases how unleashing the power of software can make life better. We are excited to welcome another global pioneer to the family and join Catenda on its ambitious scaling journey by leveraging GRO’s significant operational and B2B software experience and expertise.”
Spring Capital Polaris, the lead investor in Catenda to date, sells all its shares in this transaction.
