Even if you don’t know his work, you would have seen it. A software engineer who specializes in realistic 3D-generated computer images, Henrik took his unique talents to Hollywood.

He created special effects for films like Titanic, The Matrix and Avatar – and won an Oscar for his work The Lord of the Rings. Then he decided to do something different.

“There’s all this amazing technology used in movies. I thought, could we use that for something else? The obvious choice was product design: making realistic 3D images of products that don’t exist yet.

Maybe you’re designing a new car, and you want to know exactly what it looks like. You want to see it from all angles and look inside. That’s what we do in movies all the time – we make things that don’t exist look real.”

Henrik got together with his brother Claus and spent six years developing KeyShot, the world’s most powerful 3D rendering software. Today, the software is used by every major product design company.
